Christian Association of Nigeria Mourns Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed its condolences following the death of Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye, the Founder and General Overseer of the All Christians Fellowship Mission (ACFM).

In a statement issued by Archbishop Daniel Okoh, president of CAN, the organization extended its sympathies to Rev. Mrs. Toyin Okoye, the deceased’s widow, along with his children and the leadership and members of ACFM and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

Rev. Okoye was recognized for his lifelong dedication to the service of God and his community. According to CAN, he faithfully preached the Gospel, nurtured leadership within the Church, and advocated for unity and growth among Christian congregations in Nigeria.

“His contributions to the body of Christ extended far beyond his individual ministry,” the statement noted. “He held several leadership roles, including Chairman of CAN’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter and Chairman of the PFN’s FCT Chapter. He also served as the National Director for National Issues and Social Welfare at CAN.”

The statement highlighted Rev. Okoye’s significant involvement in national affairs, having participated in the Presidential Advisory Council on Youth Affairs, the National Political Reform Conference, and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission. He also served as Chaplain to two Presidents of Nigeria and led the Aso Rock Villa Chapel, demonstrating his belief in the positive influence of faith on society.

“Rev. Okoye was a humble servant of God who approached each duty with wisdom and grace,” the statement continued. “His commitment to Church unity and willingness to share his insights will be profoundly missed.”

As the community mourns, CAN offered prayers for comfort for his family, the All Christians Fellowship Mission, and all those affected by this loss.

“May God grant them strength and uphold them with His unfailing grace during this difficult time,” the statement concluded. “May the soul of Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye rest in eternal peace.”
