Road accident claims 12 lives along Kaduna-Kachia Road 

Traffic Collision on Kaduna-Kachia Road Leaves 12 Dead, Two Injured

A fatal road traffic accident on the Kaduna-Kachia Road in Kaduna State has resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals and injuries to two others. The collision, which involved two Volkswagen vehicles, occurred near Doka Village in Southern Kaduna.

Mr. Andrew Paul Longkam, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kaduna State, confirmed that the deceased included eight males and four females. The two injured females were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The vehicles involved in the crash, both Volkswagen Golf III models, were identified by their registration numbers: a blue vehicle with APP 394 FN and a red vehicle with ACN 205 HK. According to Longkam, it is believed that a tire burst may have caused the accident. He also noted that neither the occupants nor the drivers were wearing seat belts or protective gear at the time of the collision.

The accident was reported at approximately 10:20 a.m., and emergency responders arrived on the scene by 10:50 a.m. They were joined by members of the military and police in the rescue efforts. The injured individuals were taken to Rapha Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were transported to Idon General Hospital, where they will be retained until their families are contacted.

Longkam added that the two vehicles involved in the accident have been recovered and are currently at Kajuru Police Station.
