Man rescued unhurt after being trapped in faulty elevator on Lagos Island

A man was safely rescued from a malfunctioning elevator in a three-story building on Freeman Street, Zapass, in the Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area on Tuesday.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service received an emergency call around 11:50 a.m. and promptly dispatched a rescue team from the Ebute Elefun Fire Station.
Firefighters arrived within five minutes and began efforts to free the trapped occupant. Authorities reported that the rescue was completed without any injuries.
Preliminary investigations suggested the incident resulted from an accidental elevator malfunction.
Margaret Adeseye, Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed that no casualties were recorded during the operation.
The agency emphasized its commitment to responding quickly to emergencies and ensuring the safety of residents throughout the state.
