DSS Operatives Rescue Kidnapped Students in Zamfara State
ZAMFARA, Nigeria — The Department of State Services (DSS) successfully rescued four kidnapped students from the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, on Wednesday evening. This information was confirmed in a statement by security expert Zagazola Makama, which was shared on social media platform X.
The rescue operation, which involved intelligence-driven strategies, resulted in the safe recovery of three male students and one female student. No ransom was paid for their release. During the operation, one suspect was apprehended, while other assailants reportedly did not survive.
The students had been abducted on June 3 from their off-campus hostel located in the Low-cost area of Kaura Namoda town. Armed bandits stormed the building at that time, seizing six students in total. Two of the students were previously released before the latest rescue.
“Following an earlier release of two of the six students, security forces intensified an intelligence-led operation to secure the safe return of the remaining students,” Makama stated. The successful outcome has brought relief to their families and the local community.
