Ondo State Police Arrest Four in Assault Case Linked to Viral Video

The Ondo State Police Command has detained four individuals in connection with the alleged assault and public humiliation of a local resident, an incident captured in a widely circulated video.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Boluwaji Temidayo, faced accusations of attempting to make a fraudulent transfer to a Point of Sales (POS) operator. The video, which has sparked outrage, shows a group of angry youths physically attacking the victim and forcing him to dance with a POS machine on his head.

In a statement issued on Friday, Police Public Relations Officer DSP Abayomi Jimoh condemned the incident. He noted that Temidayo reported the assault at the Okuta Elerinla Police Station on Thursday, alleging that a group of individuals attacked him, recorded the incident without his consent, and subsequently shared the footage across various social media platforms.

The police report indicates that the incident occurred on July 21, 2026. Those arrested include Gbemisola Ariyo, Babatunde Eniola, Adams Tobiloba, and Fasusi Bunmi.

Following the complaint, police officials initiated a discreet investigation, employing digital intelligence and forensic resources to identify those involved in both the assault and the unauthorized distribution of the video. The investigation ultimately led to the identification and arrest of the four suspects believed to have played significant roles in the events depicted in the footage.
