Yobe State Agency Enforces Ban on Illegal Motor Parks
DAMATURU, Yobe State — The Yobe State Road Traffic Management Agency (YOROTA) has initiated enforcement actions against illegal motor parks and unauthorized roadside businesses in the Damaturu metropolitan area. The operation commenced on Monday following the agency’s weekly staff parade and polling exercise.
YOROTA has stated that the enforcement aims to restore order, improve road safety, reduce traffic congestion, and facilitate the movement of both vehicles and pedestrians throughout the state capital.
In a statement released by Public Relations Officer DSY Musa Ali Maigari, the agency reminded transport operators, commercial drivers, tricycle riders, and roadside vendors that engaging in unauthorized activities along public roads violates existing traffic regulations. The statement emphasized, “Anyone found contravening the directive will be sanctioned in accordance with the provisions of the law.”
YOROTA has called for cooperation from transport unions, stakeholders, community leaders, and residents to support the enforcement team in their efforts. The agency stressed that public engagement is vital for promoting environmental sanitation, maintaining order, enhancing traffic management, and ensuring a safer road network for all users in Damaturu.
