Kebbi State Governor Holds Security Meeting Amid Rising Concerns
BIRNIN KEBBI, Nigeria — Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris convened a high-level security meeting on Tuesday at the Government House, bringing together leaders from various security agencies and stakeholders to address ongoing security challenges in the state.
The meeting was prompted by increasing worries over recent incidents, including bandit attacks and kidnappings that have particularly impacted vulnerable communities. Present at the gathering were representatives from the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, as well as local vigilante groups, council chairmen from the 21 local government areas, and members of the State Executive Council.
Discussions focused on a review of the current security situation, evaluation of ongoing operations, and enhancing collaboration among different security entities. Officials emphasized the need for improved intelligence sharing and coordinated strategies to address emerging threats.
Governor Idris reiterated his administration’s dedication to maintaining peace and enhancing public safety. He underscored the importance of collaboration among security agencies and community members to effectively tackle security issues.
The governor further highlighted the necessity of proactive measures to prevent criminal activities, ensuring that residents across Kebbi’s local government areas can carry out their daily activities without fear.
