Saudi Crown Prince Raises Concerns Over Potential U.S. Military Strikes on Iran

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed concerns during a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday regarding the reported plan to escalate military strikes against Iran.

According to Axios, which cited a U.S. official, the crown prince sought clarification on the proposed actions. Another source familiar with the discussion indicated that Prince Mohammed urged Trump to consider de-escalation and to refrain from initiating the strikes.

Reports suggest that Saudi Arabia is apprehensive that any U.S. attack on Iranian energy facilities or large-scale strikes targeting vital infrastructure, such as bridges and power plants, could provoke retaliatory measures from Tehran.

Saudi officials are particularly worried that Iran may respond by targeting energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states should such strikes be carried out.
