Six Suspected Members of Alora Confraternity Arrested in Ekiti State
IKERE-EKITI, Nigeria — The Ekiti State Police Command has detained six individuals reportedly linked to the Alora Confraternity amid allegations of attempted murder following a violent altercation at a local hotel.
The arrests were made by operatives from the Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) after disturbances erupted during a meeting early Saturday morning, August 1, 2026. According to police reports, the conflict resulted in serious injuries to one suspect, identified as Sucrose, who was subsequently hospitalized for treatment.
Police Public Relations Officer SP Sunday Abutu confirmed in a statement on Monday that the RRS acted quickly in collaboration with surveillance officers from the Ilupeju Police Division, apprehending the following suspects: Owolabi Oluwapelumi, 28; David Adeleke, 28; Oluwatoba Alo, 30; Olamilekan Junior, 27; Segun Bidemi, 29; and Emmanuel Oladele, 27.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects acknowledged their affiliation with the Alora Secret Cult Confraternity. During the operation, police seized various items, including a Toyota Camry, two baseball caps bearing the Alora logo, three branded plastic cups, a blood-stained shirt, a pair of scissors, a yellow hand band, and a key holder with the same insignia.
Authorities are continuing efforts to locate additional suspects who fled the scene. The hotel, identified as Inspiration Hotel, is under investigation for allegedly permitting cult-related activities on its premises.
Commissioner of Police for Ekiti State, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, has called for an intensified investigation. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to combating cultism and violent crime, assuring the public of ongoing efforts to ensure safety and security.
The police are appealing to the community to provide any credible information that may assist in apprehending the remaining suspects and tackling criminal activity in the area. They emphasized that public collaboration is crucial for maintaining peace in Ekiti State.
