15-Year-Old Drowns in Dutse Pond
DUTSE, Nigeria — The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State has reported the drowning death of a 15-year-old boy, Isah Muhammad, at Sterling Pond, located along Disina Road in the Dutse Local Government Area.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, around 4:30 p.m., as confirmed by NSCDC Public Relations Officer ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud. Following a distress call regarding the drowning, NSCDC personnel from the Takur Site Division were deployed to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team located the victim and transported him to the General Hospital in Dutse, where medical staff pronounced him dead.
Following the confirmation of his passing, the boy’s remains were returned to his family for burial, adhering to Islamic customs.
Commandant Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa of the NSCDC conveyed his condolences to the deceased’s family, expressing prayers for their comfort during this difficult time.
