Troops Neutralize Suspected Terrorists in Plateau State Operation

NIGERIA — Troops involved in Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have reportedly neutralized two suspected terrorists, apprehended a bandit, and recovered an AK-47 rifle during a recent operation in Plateau State.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) received an operational report detailing the incident, which took place on August 10 in Nwur village, located in the Langtang North Local Government Area.

According to the report, the military personnel were accompanied by the apprehended suspect to recover a concealed rifle in the vicinity. As the troops approached the village, they came under fire from attackers, leading to a retaliatory response in which two assailants were neutralized.

The report notes that the suspected bandit who was with the troops was also killed in the exchange. Fortunately, no military personnel sustained injuries during the encounter.

Following the incident, the troops conducted further operations in the area, recovering one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. The military has stated that operations will continue to apprehend and neutralize additional members of the suspected criminal syndicate.
