Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has prohibited forward Marcus Rashford from transferring to any direct Premier League rivals.
The UK Mirror reports that the club is keen to prevent a scenario in which Rashford excels at another domestic competitor. The 28-year-old player has returned to Carrington for pre-season training following a loan spell at Barcelona, yet his long-term future at Old Trafford remains uncertain.
Ratcliffe is interested in reducing Rashford’s salary impact on the club’s finances but has ruled out a move to prominent teams such as Arsenal, Manchester City, or Liverpool.
The restrictions also apply to loan inquiries, with Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur having been turned away.
Senior officials at United reportedly fear that Rashford could play a crucial role in helping a rival team secure a Champions League spot, a situation that would be considered detrimental by the club’s leadership.
