Triumph against tyranny: Dickson, Keyamo, Murray-Bruce, Dino, Rhodes-Vivour congratulate Adeleke

Former Bayelsa State Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo, former Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, and other political leaders have congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election.
In individual statements posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the politicians hailed Adeleke’s re-election as a pivotal moment for democracy and the residents of Osun State. They called on political actors to reflect on the implications of the election results.
Dickson: A Reminder of Democratic Power
Dickson extended his congratulations to Adeleke, emphasizing that the election outcome underscored the ability of citizens to express their democratic will through voting, despite enduring challenges within the political landscape.
“I warmly congratulate the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the Osun State Governorship Election,” Dickson said. “This victory is significant not only for Governor Adeleke and the people of Osun State, but also for our democracy. It serves as a reminder that, even in an increasingly challenging political environment, the people can still assert their democratic will through the ballot.”
He applauded Osun voters for their commitment to their democratic choices and urged the candidates who did not win to support Adeleke for the state’s peace and development.
“I commend the people of Osun State for standing firm in defense of their democratic choice and call on all those who contested the election and emerged on the losing side to join hands with the Governor in the spirit of sportsmanship and work for the peace and development of Osun State,” Dickson added.
He wished Adeleke and the residents of Osun ongoing peace, progress, and prosperity.
Keyamo Welcomes Historic Victory
Keyamo also extended his congratulations to Adeleke, labeling the election result as a historic victory.
“Huge congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke on his historic victory in the governorship election in Osun State,” he said.
Murray-Bruce: A Friendly Salutation
Murray-Bruce congratulated Adeleke as a friend and former colleague in the eighth Senate, stating, “Warm congratulations to my dear friend and former colleague in the 8th Senate, Governor Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the Osun State governorship election. Congratulations, my brother.”
Rhodes-Vivour: A Triumph Against Tyranny
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a former Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, also congratulated the voters of Osun. He described the election outcome as a triumph over tyranny.
“I congratulate the great people of Osun on their spectacular triumph against tyranny,” Rhodes-Vivour said, asserting that the results illustrated that voters could not be swayed by intimidation or financial inducements.
“You have proven that no amount of guns, intimidation, and inducement can deter a people determined not to return under the yoke of their oppressors,” he stated, urging Nigerians to use the lessons learned from this election to inform their strategies for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
“Let us take the lessons from Osun and build on it towards the general elections,” Rhodes-Vivour added.
Melaye: An Opposition Victory
Former Kogi State senator Dino Melaye also praised Adeleke, framing the election result as a victory for the opposition.
“Opposition win in Osun. Congratulations Ademola Adeleke. We are dancing to the Villa. APC… odabo,” Melaye posted.
Adeleke was declared the winner of the election after receiving 511,067 votes, defeating his closest opponent, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 444,815 votes.
