‘There’s see finish in London, America’ — Davido tells Nigerian artistes to prioritize home shows

Afrobeats artist Davido has voiced concerns about the changing international demand for Nigerian musicians, urging industry veterans to focus on performing in Nigeria.
In a recent interview on The Uncut Podcast, Davido addressed the evolving music scene in the United Kingdom and the United States, highlighting a growing familiarity with Nigerian talent in those markets. He expressed hope that leading figures in the music industry would return to Nigeria in the coming years, noting a decrease in the attractiveness of overseas markets compared to previous years.
“In the next 10 years, I want the music OGs to come back to Nigeria. There is already ‘see finish’ in London and America, honestly,” Davido said.
He further compared current trends with those of previous years, observing a significant decline in the number of artists who can independently sell out major venues abroad.
“Three years ago, at least 20 artists could come to London and sell out shows, but now I can count maybe four or five, and we all know them. We can all see the shift,” Davido remarked.
