Nollywood actor and producer Kunle Omisore recently shared insights from an extraordinary experience he had with a group he claims to be witches. During an interview on the African A-List podcast, Omisore recounted being invited to a witchcraft meeting to address a dispute with one of its members.

According to Omisore, the invitation followed an allegation made against him by the member, who accused him of wrongdoing. “One of them reported me. She said I offended her, and I was summoned,” he said, explaining that he went to clarify his side of the story. He noted that he was unfamiliar with the specifics of the accusation but was informed that he had supposedly harmed something belonging to her.

Omisore described his observations during the meeting, reporting that many individuals were present and some were seen carrying calabashes. “I saw many people that were tied there,” he added.

He also addressed the portrayal of witches in Nollywood films, suggesting that the traditional depictions—often featuring painted faces—do not align with his experience. “The ones that I saw wore Iro and a buba dress; I didn’t see them with painted faces,” he stated, underscoring a contrast between cinematic representations and what he claims to have witnessed.
