‘Nothing wrong with couples maintaining separate bank accounts’ – Davido

Nigerian music artist Davido has expressed his support for couples maintaining separate bank accounts, emphasizing the importance of personal financial security for both men and women.

During an appearance on The Uncut Podcast, Davido was asked about the idea of women having secret bank accounts from their partners. He responded favorably, stating that he believes both partners should have independent finances.

“I actually think they should; you never know,” Davido said. “If I ever found out that my wife had a secret bank account, I wouldn’t be angry; I think everybody should have their own.”

Davido highlighted the unpredictability of future circumstances, noting that being financially prepared is vital for both men and women. He argued that personal financial independence can strengthen relationships, asserting that everyone should maintain individual accounts regardless of their marital status.

“I think everybody should have their own,” he added.
