Zambian Model Lisa Mutambo Found Dead After Night Out
LUSAKA, Zambia — A 25-year-old model and socialite, Lisa Mutambo, has died following a night out with friends. Authorities reported that she vomited and lost consciousness at her residence in the Kalundu area of Lusaka.
The Zambia Police Service received notification of the incident at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026. According to police officials, Mutambo was pronounced dead at Victoria Hospital between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.
Police deputy spokesperson Chipo Kaitisha stated that Mutambo had spent the evening of August 19 at a hotel, where she worked as an ambassador, alongside two female friends. The group departed from the hotel around 10:30 p.m. and continued their night at another venue in Lusaka.
Around 2:30 a.m., Mutambo’s boyfriend arrived and transported the three women. He dropped off her friends in the Minestone/Casanova area before taking Mutambo back to her home in Kalundu.
Upon arriving at her residence, Mutambo began to vomit and subsequently became unconscious. Her boyfriend sought assistance from a friend, who helped drive her to Victoria Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The Zambia Police Service confirmed in a statement, “The Zambia Police Service, through Chelstone Police Station, received a report of a sudden death involving a 25-year-old female identified as Lisa Mutambo.”
Following the incident, police processed both the primary and secondary scenes. Mutambo’s body was initially taken to FSG Mortuary before being transferred to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Authorities reported that no physical injuries were found on Mutambo’s body, refuting social media claims suggesting she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.
