Senator Nenadi Usman Poised to Assume Leadership of Labour Party Secretariat
By John Alechenu, Abuja
Senator Nenadi Usman is positioned to officially take over the National Secretariat of the Labour Party (LP), making her the likely first female National Chairman of a major political party in Nigeria.
The secretariat, situated in the Utako District of Abuja, was previously occupied by the faction led by Julius Abure. However, this transition follows a recent decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which recognized Usman and her appointed team.
Preparation for the transition is underway, with a banner featuring Usman and the acting National Secretary, Senator Darlington Nwochocha, being displayed at the building. This move is part of the lead-up to an event marking the start of this new chapter for the Labour Party.
Further details will be provided as events unfold.
