Two Arrested in Cow Theft Case in Kebbi State

BUNZA, Kebbi State — The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested two individuals suspected of stealing two cows in the Bunza Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson SP Bashir Usman issued a statement on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, detailing the events leading to the arrests. Authorities were alerted by members of the community who reported that the cows were being taken to the Bunza market.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the cows had been stolen from Ganten Tudu in the Bagudu Local Government Area before their arrival in Bunza.

The owner of the cows was contacted and subsequently confirmed ownership of the animals. The police have returned the recovered cows to their rightful owner.

Authorities reported that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts to identify and apprehend any additional individuals involved in the alleged theft.
