Nigerian Military Kills Notorious Bandit Commander in Zamfara State

The Nigerian military has confirmed the death of Kachalla Hare, a prominent bandit commander, during a confrontation with security forces in Zamfara State. The encounter reportedly took place near Gusami village, situated between the Bungudu and Gusau Local Government Areas.

Hare, known for terrorizing communities in the Mada area, was engaged by military operatives while accompanied by his fighters. In this clash, multiple bandits were killed, and Hare sustained serious injuries before he was captured.

According to conflict journalist Bakatsine, who shared the information on the social media platform X, Hare was discovered in possession of ammunition. He succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday morning.

There had been prior speculation regarding Hare’s fate following the recent elimination of one of his associates; however, these claims could not be immediately substantiated.

Hare’s death is part of a broader military campaign aimed at dismantling bandit groups and terrorist organizations in Zamfara and other areas across North-West Nigeria. In recent months, the military has intensified operations targeting key figures within these groups.
