Teacher nabbed for allegedly defiling 10-year-old girl in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested Garba Suleiman, a 54-year-old primary school teacher residing in Damare, Yola South Local Government Area, on charges of allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl.
The arrest followed a complaint filed by the victim’s family at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Yola South, according to a statement from the police.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Suleiman lured the minor and engaged in unlawful sexual activity with her, the statement, issued by Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Nguroje, noted.
Commissioner of Police Kabir Umar Hassan has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yola for further investigation and prosecution.
The police command condemned all forms of gender-based violence and assured the public that justice would be pursued in this case.
