NPFL: Buter laments Sporting Lagos’ missed opportunity against Barau FC
Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffrey Buter expressed disappointment following his team’s 1-1 draw against Barau FC during a Nigeria Premier Football League match on Saturday. The game, part of matchday six, took place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan.
Barau FC initially took the lead with a goal from Joseph Atule, who converted a penalty just before halftime after Stanley Oganbor was fouled in the box. Sporting Lagos equalized in the second half through Sodiq Ayoade.
Buter remarked that he believed his team had performed well enough to secure a victory. “I think we deserved more than a draw. We should have won this game,” he said in an interview with the club’s media team. He also noted that with improved officiating, his team might have claimed all three points.
Next, Sporting Lagos will compete in a local derby against Ikorodu City.
