AFCON 2027Q: Chelle shakes up Super Eagles XI for Guinea-Bissau clash
Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle is poised to implement at least three changes to his starting lineup for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea-Bissau on Thursday.
Sources indicate that captain Wilfred Ndidi, winger Samuel Chukwueze, and striker George Ilenikhena of Al-Ittihad are expected to begin the match on the bench.
In their absence, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, and Taiwo Awoniyi are anticipated to take their places in the starting XI. Chelle is likely to maintain the same defensive lineup that secured a 2-1 victory over Madagascar in their previous match.
Additionally, Atlético Madrid winger Ademola Lookman and striker Akor Adams are expected to start against Guinea-Bissau.
The match will take place at the September 24 Stadium in Bissau, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. Nigerian time.
