2026 Ballon d’Or: PSG president, Al-Khelaifi names three players to win award
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his desire for one of his players to secure the prestigious Ballon d’Or this year.
In an interview with Marca, Al-Khelaifi highlighted three players in particular: Ousmane Dembele, Fabian Ruiz, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He stated, “Obviously, I want one of my three players to win it: Dembele, Kvaratskhelia or Fabian Ruiz, who also deserves it.”
Al-Khelaifi also acknowledged the talent of Kylian Mbappe, noting, “Although you know that I know Kylian Mbappe well and that he is one of the best players in the world.”
Dembele, Ruiz, and Kvaratskhelia are among the 30 nominees shortlisted for this year’s award. Over the past year, PSG emerged victorious in Ligue 1 and won the Champions League title for the second consecutive season.
