Super Eagles: Chelle makes two changes for Russia friendly
Super Eagles Adjust Squad Ahead of Friendly Against Russia
Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has announced two changes to his roster in preparation for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly against Russia.
Midfielder John Otomewo and defender Vince Osuji have been called up to replace captain Wilfred Ndidi and Akpe Victory, who are unable to participate in the match.
Otomewo recently transferred to French Ligue 2 club Stade de Reims from Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Premier League. Osuji is currently with Tromsø in Norway after leaving Club Brugge in Belgium.
Both players will seek to make their debuts for the Super Eagles as Nigeria faces Russia at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium next Tuesday.
The last meeting between the two nations occurred in June 2025, ending in a 1-1 draw at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium.
