On October 29, 2026, troops from Sector 1 were conducting a fighting patrol along the Shadow–Old Kuyello Road in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State when they came under attack by armed terrorists. In response, the troops employed superior firepower to repel the assault, resulting in the neutralization of three terrorists. The operation also led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, one magazine, three rounds of ammunition, and a motorcycle.

In a separate incident on October 30, 2026, while on a routine patrol, Sector 1 troops recovered 28 cows and 13 sheep from suspected cattle rustlers in Shanono town, located in the Shanono Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
