Women, financial experts, investment professionals, and industry stakeholders gathered for the 2026 FinTribe Finance Fair, a platform dedicated to exploring investment opportunities, enhancing financial literacy, and advancing women’s roles in wealth creation.
Organized by FinTribe, the event brought together representatives from financial institutions, the Nigerian Exchange Group, entrepreneurs, and other professionals to discuss strategies for building sustainable wealth, effective financial management, and achieving financial independence.
Jennifer Awirigwe, founder of FinTribe, expressed the organization’s commitment to equipping women with the necessary knowledge, confidence, and opportunities to make informed financial decisions. She noted that the FinTribe community has grown to include women from 47 countries who have collectively invested over $8 million.
Awirigwe highlighted the organization’s recent initiatives, including a foray into real estate, the expansion of the World Women’s Academy, and the launch of a mobile application designed to connect members with educational resources, investment opportunities, and community engagement.
“This movement unites women across 47 countries who have collectively invested over $8 million,” Awirigwe said. “We have established a vibrant community, launched the World Women’s Academy, and created opportunities for women to learn, connect, and grow financially.”
She emphasized that the organization’s impact should be assessed by the practical financial steps taken by women, rather than the size of its events. “The most significant measure of our success is not the number of attendees, but rather the woman who has made her first investment, launched her business, or gained the financial confidence to take that crucial step,” she explained.
Addressing the fair’s theme, “I CAN,” Awirigwe noted that it is intended to challenge limiting beliefs that hinder women from pursuing financial opportunities, property ownership, and generational wealth. She encouraged participants to engage with the financial experts and investment professionals present, ask questions, and apply their newfound knowledge toward actionable financial decisions.
Olufemi Shobajo, Chief Executive Officer of NGX Regulation Limited, praised FinTribe for maintaining discussions on financial inclusion, investor education, and the advancement of Nigeria’s financial ecosystem. He reiterated his organization’s partnership with FinTribe, emphasizing that financial empowerment involves more than just gaining access to banking services; it requires equipping individuals with the knowledge to effectively utilize those opportunities.
Also in attendance, Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Bamike ‘BamBam’ Olawunmi-Adenibuyan urged women to focus on personal development and invest in their skills, describing self-investment as a valuable asset that can create opportunities in various settings. “You are your greatest investment. Once you invest in yourself, you can replicate the value of what you have learned, no matter where you find yourself,” she stated.
