INEC to Display Preliminary Voter Register in Ekiti State
By Rotimi Ojomoyela, Ado-Ekiti
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ekiti State has announced that it will display the Preliminary Register of Voters for public scrutiny.
This initiative was detailed in a statement issued by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi.
The display is scheduled to occur from Friday, March 6, to Thursday, March 12, 2026, at designated centers in all 177 wards across Ekiti State. This effort is part of the preparations for the upcoming governorship election on June 20.
Omoseyindemi emphasized that the purpose of the display is to allow residents to verify the accuracy of the register before the electoral activities commence.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) hereby notifies the general public, political parties, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders that the Preliminary Register of Voters for Ekiti State will be displayed for public scrutiny, claims, and objections,” the statement said.
During the exercise, voters can verify their names and personal details on the register. They will also have the opportunity to correct inaccuracies in names and dates of birth, claim their rights if their names are not listed, and raise objections against ineligible individuals, including deceased persons or those registered underage.
INEC encourages all registered voters, as well as political parties and other stakeholders, to participate in the exercise by visiting their local display centers to confirm their details. The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to upholding a credible, transparent, and inclusive voter registry as it prepares for future elections.
