Justice Bamidele Adeyeye of Ondo State High Court Passes Away

Akure, Nigeria — Justice Bamidele Adeyeye of the Ondo State High Court has died, as confirmed in a statement issued Friday by Chief Registrar Ayodeji Akinsanya.

Justice Adeyeye passed away on March 12, 2026, and was recognized as a distinguished jurist who served as the presiding judge of High Court 5 in Akure. The statement mourned his loss, highlighting his reputation for integrity, wisdom, and dedication to justice during his tenure on the bench.

“Justice Adeyeye’s commitment to fairness, equity, and the rule of law characterized his service,” Akinsanya stated. He was well-respected among colleagues, members of the legal profession, and the public for his humility and impartiality in the performance of his duties.

The judiciary noted that Justice Adeyeye’s contributions to the judicial system and the advancement of justice in Ondo State would leave a lasting impact. His death is considered a profound loss for both the judiciary and the people of Ondo State and Nigeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Justice Adeyeye was appointed to the Ondo State High Court on September 8, 2011. Prior to his judicial appointment, he founded the law firm Fola Adeyeye & Co. in Okitipupa, Ondo State, after his birth on January 16, 1961.
