Ballon d’Or 2026: ‘I’m very calm’ – Dembele speaks on winning back-to-back awards

Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé Remains Focused Amid Ballon d’Or Chase

PARIS — Ousmane Dembélé, forward for Paris Saint-Germain, stated he remains composed as he competes for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Dembélé secured the prestigious award in the previous year after playing a pivotal role in leading the Ligue 1 champions to victory in the UEFA Champions League. He is widely regarded as one of the top contenders for this year’s award.

When asked about his prospects for winning consecutive Ballon d’Or titles, Dembélé, a former star at Barcelona, emphasized teamwork in an interview with beIN Sports. “I am very calm. Individual trophies come later; if they come, they come. If they don’t, that’s how it is,” he said.

He highlighted the importance of team achievements, noting PSG’s recent victories in Ligue 1, the Super Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup. “On May 30th, we have something great planned for all PSG fans,” Dembélé added.
