Benue Police present insurance cheques to families of deceased officers

The Benue State Police Command has issued insurance cheques to the families of deceased officers at a ceremony held at its headquarters in Makurdi, the state capital.

In a statement, Deputy Superintendent of Police Orchia Aondogwu confirmed that this initiative aligns with efforts by the Inspector-General of Police to assist the families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

During the presentation, Commissioner of Police Cletus C. Nwadiobu conveyed the condolences of Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu to the bereaved families. He acknowledged the profound loss experienced by the families and emphasized that while no amount of financial support can truly compensate for their grief, the insurance benefits are intended to provide some measure of relief.

Nwadiobu encouraged the beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly, particularly to address their immediate needs and ensure the welfare of their families, especially the children of the deceased officers.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families and expressed dedication to supporting initiatives aimed at assisting those affected by losses during service.
