Biggest cover-up – Sowore speaks on arrest of fake PFIPC DG, Adeniyi Adeyemi

Human Rights Activist Calls Arrest a ‘Cover-Up’ in Fraud Case

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has criticized the arrest of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), calling it “the biggest cover-up ever.”

Sowore made his comments on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday after Adeyemi was apprehended pursuant to a warrant issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

In his post, Sowore suggested that Adeyemi’s arrest and subsequent treatment indicate a broader official cover-up rather than an earnest effort to seek the truth. He also posited that if the government were genuinely pursuing justice, it would investigate Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

Sowore additionally alleged that an individual connected to a ₦400 million bribery case involving Gbajabiamila has died under mysterious circumstances, and the hotel purportedly used for the transaction has since been demolished. He accused the federal government of obstructing justice in the matter.

According to reports, Adeyemi was detained shortly after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court issued the arrest warrant. He faces an eight-count charge that includes allegations of forgery, fraud, and impersonation, under case number FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025.

Although the case was scheduled for arraignment, Adeyemi did not appear in court, despite his lawyer, Genesis Francis, representing him. This absence led to the issuance of the arrest warrant.
