Cubana Chief Priest opens up on feud with Burna Boy

Nigerian Entrepreneur Discusses Fallout with Burna Boy
LAGOS, Nigeria — Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, widely recognized as Cubana Chief Priest, recently addressed his public dispute with singer Burna Boy, attributing the conflict to his relationship with fellow artist Davido.
In an interview on The Beat 99.9 FM, Okechukwu reflected on his rise to success, which he described as rooted in years of apprenticeship and dedication. He noted that increased fame and financial success often invite jealousy and criticism.
“Success comes with a lot of hate. I started my journey from apprenticeship and service, and I learned valuable lessons about growth and perseverance. When you begin to succeed, you start to notice how people treat you,” Okechukwu stated.
The confrontation with Burna Boy, he claims, was initiated by the singer, who took to social media to share what Okechukwu characterized as false statements aimed at undermining his reputation.
“I was on my own when Burna Boy came at me, using his platform to spread things that are simply not true. The attack was directly aimed at my success,” he said. “It seemed to stem from my relationship with Davido.”
Okechukwu expressed gratitude for Davido’s support throughout his career, stating that the artist has played a crucial role in launching various business ventures.
“Davido is always there for me. He opened all my nightclubs and restaurants, consistently showing support for my endeavors,” he said. “He’s also investing in clubs in Lagos, and I’m making music to demonstrate my capabilities.”
This revelation highlights the complex dynamics within Nigeria’s entertainment industry, emphasizing the interplay of friendship and rivalry among its prominent figures.
