Manchester City Must Win Remaining Matches to Secure Premier League Title, Guardiola Says
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola stated that the only path to reclaiming the Premier League title from Arsenal is for his team to win all of their remaining matches.
City defeated Burnley 1-0 on Wednesday night, allowing them to ascend to the top of the Premier League table for the first time since August. Both Manchester City and Arsenal now have 70 points and a goal difference of 37; however, City leads due to a higher goal tally of 66, compared to Arsenal’s 63.
In the post-match press conference following the victory over Burnley, Guardiola addressed the challenges ahead. “Now we have the FA Cup, and after that we have five games,” he said. “The only chance for the title is to win all the games,” he added.
Manchester City last won the Premier League title in 2023 under Guardiola’s leadership.
