In remarks to TNT Sports following the match, Emery emphasized the importance of desire and focus. He conveyed to his players the need to exhibit determination on the pitch before their successful performance.
“We played in a very serious way this year, so focused, and of course, the players showed their desire,” Emery said. “I told them, ‘We need desire in this competition and show it on the field. You are the protagonists.’ And they did it.”
