Borno Governor Reaffirms Commitment to Security and Resettlement
BORNO STATE—Governor Babagana Zulum has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing security and facilitating the resettlement of communities displaced by insurgency in Borno State.
In a statement released Wednesday by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, Zulum emphasized that his government would continue to collaborate with security agencies and volunteer groups to maintain peace throughout the region.
Currently on pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, Zulum encouraged Muslims to reflect on the values of sacrifice, tolerance, and compassion during the Eid-el-Kabir festivities. He urged the community to support vulnerable populations and promote peaceful coexistence among residents.
The governor pledged to intensify efforts aimed at resettling displaced communities and empowering economically vulnerable residents across the state.
“We will continue to work closely with the military and other security agencies, as well as volunteer forces, to ensure peace and tranquility in our communities,” Zulum stated.
He assured residents that more displaced communities would be resettled before the conclusion of his administration and that empowerment programs for affected individuals would be maintained.
Zulum also reiterated his commitment to completing ongoing developmental projects in the state before his tenure ends.
Additionally, he commended members of the All Progressives Congress for their peaceful conduct during the party’s primary elections in Borno and called on Nigerians to pray for enduring peace in Borno and throughout the country.
