Gunmen invade Ondo community, abduct three farmers
Gunmen Abduct Farmer and Two Others in Ondo State
Idanre, Ondo State — Three individuals, including a farmer identified as Funke Agbaje, were abducted by gunmen believed to be kidnappers in the Agbaje community, situated in the Ala-Elefosan axis of Idanre Local Council Area.
The victims, two women and one man, were reportedly taken while working on their farm in the area, known for its agricultural activities.
A source close to the situation, who requested anonymity, revealed that the kidnappers have contacted the victims’ families and are demanding a ransom of 5 million naira for each individual.
“This is a shocking experience for us. My sister-in-law, Funke Falolu, and the others went to the farm as they do every day, and we did not expect them not to return home. The kidnappers called and demanded 5 million naira for their release. Where are we supposed to find that kind of money?” the source said.
The incident has since been reported to the Ala Police Station and the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun.
Police Public Relations Officer Abayomi Jimoh confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
