Sokoto State Hisbah Board Arrests 26 in Enforcement Operation
SOKOTO, Nigeria — The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has apprehended 26 individuals in a coordinated enforcement operation conducted as part of its “Operation Tsaftace Birnin Shehu” initiative. The arrests were announced in a statement released by the board on Thursday.
The operation was led by Malam Usman Abdullahi Jatau, Commander-General of the Sokoto State Hisbah Board, in collaboration with Imam Sirajo Abubakar, the Director of Da’awah. Enforcement activities took place in various locations, including Nakasari, Hubbare, Offer Road, the Sokoto Central Motor Park, and Giginya Hotel.
The Hisbah Board described the operation as part of its ongoing efforts to promote what it considers moral and social values in the state capital. Activities deemed contrary to these values are the focus of the “Operation Tsaftace Birnin Shehu” campaign.
