I have no plan of getting married – Singer Bloody Civilian

Nigerian Singer Bloody Civilian Discusses Shifts in Personal Values
Nigerian singer Emoseh Khamofu, known professionally as Bloody Civilian, has shared insights into how her career has reshaped her worldview and influenced her views on familial expectations.
In a recent episode of the Not Just On podcast, the Taraba-born artist spoke candidly about her evolving perspective on traditional values, particularly those relating to marriage and family.
Bloody Civilian, 26, stated that her family’s expectations regarding marriage are not in line with her own aspirations. “One thing my family still does not understand about being an artiste is the fact that certain conventional things they expect of a woman from the North are just simply not things that I am excited to do,” she explained.
Despite ongoing familial pressure, she emphasized that marriage is not currently a priority for her. “For instance, marriage is not something that I am thinking of at all. But that question keeps being brought up,” she noted.
Bloody Civilian’s comments highlight the generational and cultural shifts many young artists are experiencing as they navigate personal and professional identities.
