Celtic Claims Scottish Cup with 3-1 Victory Over Dunfermline Athletic
HAMPDEN PARK — Kelechi Iheanacho scored a crucial goal as Celtic secured a 3-1 victory over Dunfermline Athletic to win the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
Celtic established an early advantage, with Daizen Maeda finding the back of the net in the 17th minute. The team maintained control throughout the first half and doubled their lead shortly before halftime when Arne Engels scored in the 36th minute.
Iheanacho entered the match, replacing James Forrest two minutes before the hour mark, and contributed to Celtic’s scoring by netting their third goal in the 62nd minute. He finished the season with nine goals in 24 appearances for the team across all competitions.
Dunfermline saw a glimmer of hope with Josh Cooper scoring in the 80th minute but ultimately fell short as Celtic celebrated their Scottish Cup triumph.
