LaLiga Season Concludes: Teams Set for European Competitions
The 2025/26 LaLiga season concluded on Sunday night, with several clubs securing spots for next season’s European competitions.
Villarreal clinched a decisive 5-1 victory against Atletico Madrid during the final match, finishing the season in third place. Atletico Madrid, despite their loss, ended up in fourth position on the LaLiga table.
Barcelona and Real Madrid had already confirmed their places in the UEFA Champions League, having secured the top two positions in the league earlier in the season.
Joining Villarreal and Atletico Madrid in next year’s Champions League are Real Betis, who also qualified by finishing in the desired top four.
Celta Vigo earned a place in the UEFA Europa League after finishing sixth, while Getafe secured entry into the Europa Conference League by concluding the season in seventh.
Real Sociedad qualified for the Europa League as well, despite finishing tenth, due to their victory in the Copa del Rey final against Atletico Madrid.
