NDLEA Arrests 38 Suspects in Kano Drug Operations Ahead of Eid al-Kabir
KANO, Nigeria — The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano Strategic Command has apprehended 38 individuals in a two-day operation targeting drug hotspots across the Kano metropolis in anticipation of the Eid al-Kabir celebrations.
In a statement released by Public Relations Officer Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari on Saturday, the operation was conducted as part of “Operation Sharar Mafaka.” Key areas of focus included Fagge, Hotoro, Gyadi Gyadi, Kofar Mata, Sheka, and Farm Centre.
Authorities seized various substances during the raid, including Cannabis sativa, Exol-5, Diazepam, a narcotic commonly known as “Suck and Die,” rubber solution, and several locally manufactured weapons.
Maigatari emphasized that the enhanced operation aims to deter criminal activities that may arise during the festive period. “We will continue to hit the joints until our streets are safe and ensure a peaceful Sallah celebration for all citizens,” he stated.
