NLO sanctions Ibadan United over players, fans’ unruly conduct

Ibadan United Forfeits Match, Fined After Incident at Durbar Stadium
Ibadan United has forfeited its 2026 Nationwide League One match against Ilaji FC, according to an announcement from the league. The club was also fined ₦500,000 following a serious incident in which players invaded the pitch and assaulted match officials during the game.
The Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) issued the statement on Monday, calling the actions “a serious act of misconduct and unsportsmanlike behaviour” that disrupted the match. The incident occurred during a live-streamed game at Durbar Stadium in Oyo, with league officials present to witness the events.
In addition to the forfeiture and financial penalty, three players from Ibadan United—Ojedokun Basit, Lawal Hassan, and Aderibigbe Hammed—have been suspended indefinitely from all football-related activities.
Ibadan United must pay the imposed fine before its next league fixture. As of now, the club has not publicly accepted or rejected the sanction.
