NPFL: Ilechukwu urges Rangers to maintain focus in title push

Rangers Remain Focused on NPFL Title Chase After Win Over Bayelsa United

The Flying Antelopes of Rangers are firmly positioned at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) standings after securing a 2-0 victory against Bayelsa United on Sunday night at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.

Midfielder Chidiebere Nwobodo opened the scoring shortly after the half-hour mark, giving Rangers a crucial lead. Veteran forward Godwin Obaje followed up with a second goal five minutes before the final whistle, marking his twelfth goal of the league season.

With only two matches left in the campaign, Rangers’ technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, emphasized the importance of maintaining focus as the team pursues its ninth NPFL title.

“It was a good game for us. I’m happy, but we must not lose concentration,” Ilechukwu said. He noted that while he was pleased with the overall performance, he was less satisfied with the team’s play in the second half. However, he commended the defenders and goalkeeper for their solid performance.

Rangers look ahead as they aim to secure their place at the top and clinch the championship in the closing matches of the season.
