NPFL slams Kano Pillars with N15m fine for violent conduct

Kano Pillars Fined N15 Million for Security Violations in NPFL Match

Kano Pillars has been fined N15 million for violating regulations in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) during their recent match against Rivers United.

The team, known as Sai Masu Gida, was penalized for failing to provide adequate security, allowing unauthorized individuals to access restricted areas.

In addition to the financial penalty, Kano Pillars faces several charges for misconduct. The club has been fined N3 million for repeatedly failing to ensure the proper conduct of their supporters, whose actions resulted in the harassment and intimidation of match officials.

Another N3 million fine was imposed for continued gross misconduct towards these officials. Plus, an additional N2 million was levied for disruptions during the match, which included harassment of the center referee and stoppages in play.

As a consequence of these infractions, Kano Pillars will be required to play their remaining NPFL fixtures behind closed doors.

In the match in question, Kano Pillars secured a 2-1 victory over Rivers United at the Sani Abacha Stadium. The club has 48 hours from the notice date to appeal the sanctions.
