Obasanjo told us you can’t be trusted – Joe Igbokwe rubbishes Atiku’s presidential ambition
Joe Igbokwe Criticizes Atiku Abubakar’s Trustworthiness for Nigeria’s Treasury
Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed concerns regarding the fitness of African Democratic Congress (ADC) leader Atiku Abubakar to manage Nigeria’s treasury.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Igbokwe referenced former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s assertions about Abubakar’s trustworthiness, stating, “We cannot trust him with the treasury of Nigeria.” He cited Obasanjo as saying that Abubakar could not be relied upon.
The relationship between Obasanjo and Abubakar has been contentious, marked by accusations from the former president against his former vice president. Obasanjo has alleged that Abubakar played a role in attempts to impeach him during his presidency.
In response, Abubakar criticized Obasanjo’s claims regarding bribery involving the late Rt. Hon. Ghali Umar Na’Abba, describing the accusations as “reckless” and “fundamentally unfair” to someone who cannot defend his legacy.
