Ogun govt tasks learners on continuous, effective reading for better performance
Ogun State Education Commissioner Encourages Study Habits Amid Exams
Learners in Ogun State have been urged to prioritize effective reading habits in preparation for exams to enhance their performance and achieve better grades.
Abayomi Arigbabu, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, made this appeal during his oversight of the first day of the 2025/2026 Unified Promotion Examination in the Ijebu-Ode, Remo, and Yewa regions of the state.
Arigbabu emphasized that thorough reading and comprehension are key to students’ academic success.
Accompanied by Governor Dapo Abiodun’s Special Adviser on Education, Lukmon Kiadese, and other officials, Arigbabu noted that the government has implemented measures in all schools to support effective teaching and learning.
“I am pleased with the behavior of school heads, teachers, and students during these examinations,” he stated. “Parents can be assured that the government continues to invest in the infrastructure necessary to enhance educational standards.”
He added, “Before the next school session begins, the community can expect significant construction and rehabilitation of classrooms across all educational levels. Governor Abiodun is also committed to making substantial investments in the state’s five Special Needs Schools for comprehensive transformation.”
Arigbabu visited the Government Technical College in Ajegunle, where he announced the installation of advanced equipment in technical colleges as part of the government’s initiative to elevate Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) in the state. This effort has reportedly positioned Ogun State as a leader in the TVET sector.
Principals from various schools, including Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School and Yewa/Egbado College, expressed their gratitude to Governor Abiodun for his support of education, referring to him as the “education-loving governor” of Ogun State.
Schools visited during the monitoring include Anglican Girls’ Grammar School, Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, Isanbi High School, Orile-Igbore Grammar School, Oluaso High School, Eyinni Comprehensive High School, Yewa/Egbado College, and Government Technical College, Ajegunle.
