Ogun State Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers Linked to Murder Case

The Ogun State Police Command announced the arrest of two men, Muhammed Sanni, 20, and Gafaru Adamu, 25, who are believed to be members of a seven-man kidnapping gang. The arrests occurred in the Okada area of Edo State, where the suspects are linked to an ongoing murder investigation.

According to police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the suspects were apprehended on Thursday by personnel from the Nigeria Forest Security Service and subsequently handed over to the Ogun State Police.

Babaseyi stated that investigators found the suspects to be wanted in connection with a kidnapping and murder case reported in Edo State. During the arrest, officers recovered a police camouflage uniform and three mobile phones from the suspects.

“Following extensive profiling and investigation, the suspects were identified as Gafaru Adamu and Muhammed Sanni,” Babaseyi said. “Preliminary findings suggest their involvement in the kidnapping and murder case under investigation.”

The police have confirmed that since the alleged offenses occurred outside Ogun State, both suspects, along with the recovered items, will be transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and legal action.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, praised the operatives for their professionalism and diligence in the swift identification of the suspects and recovery of crucial evidence. He emphasized the command’s commitment to preventing criminal operations within the state.

Ojajuni urged residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information to law enforcement to support ongoing efforts in combating crime. The police command aims to enhance public safety through intelligence-led strategies and collaborative measures with other states.
