Imo State Police Investigate Murder of Nursing Student
The Imo State Police Command has initiated a search for the assailants involved in the murder of Wendy Achumba, a female nursing student found dead in her apartment in Umudara Obowo Local Government Area.
According to Police spokesperson Henry Okoye, the command deployed a special squad to the scene following reports of the incident. Officers conducted an on-site assessment, recovered Achumba’s body, and transported it to a morgue for examination. Investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances of her death and identify those responsible.
“Preliminary questioning has led to the arrest of one suspect in connection with the ongoing investigation,” Okoye stated.
The police reassured students and the general public to remain calm, emphasizing that efforts are underway to ensure those involved in the crime are brought to justice.
