Soldier, five others killed in Adamawa road crash

Six Dead in Adamawa Road Collision

YOLA, Adamawa State — A fatal road accident on the Murke section of the Yola–Song Road claimed the lives of six individuals on Wednesday evening.

The collision involved a Hummer bus and a military patrol vehicle traveling in opposite directions. Eyewitnesses reported that the Hummer caught fire following the impact, resulting in the burning of five passengers beyond recognition. A soldier accompanying the military vehicle also died at the scene.

A seventh person suffered severe injuries and was found unconscious, with reports indicating that their condition is life-threatening.

Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, was en route to Mubi for an official engagement when she arrived at the accident site. An aide to the deputy governor stated that she promptly directed her convoy to assist in transporting the victims to Specialist Hospital in Yola.
